Strathclyde used to be a technical institution prior to becoming a full university, so it is naturally stronger at science/engineering, but it has some good arts degrees too - including history. Glasgow's history degree is ranked higher (and it's generally a stronger uni in Arts subjects), but both history degrees are well above average in the national rankings (or certainly the difference between them isn't significant enough to make that the deciding factor for a single semester of study).
