I'm sort of in the same boat. I came out last year and was also worried about day to day life.

Like others have already said, most people in Glasgow (along with Edinburgh, Perth, Stirling, Ayr) don't really care who or what you are providing you're not a cunt.

Once you realise this, it's much easier to get on with life and leave your insecurities in the closet you used to live in.

I don't pass particularly and my voice certainly doesn't but nobody gives me any hassle for the most part. Going shopping? No problem, even if I need to try something on, the staff don't even raise an eyebrow. Going for a meal or drink with friends? No problem, and it does feel great when the staff say "right this way miss". Despite the scare stories and shit that goes down in America, nobody thinks you are some weirdo predator when you ask where the ladies loo is.

But I do understand it is hard and the world feels like a scary place. You have my understanding and sympathy <3

If you want to start working on your voice, try that Christella VoiceUp app but do not fall into the trap of thinking that pitch is everything, it really isn't. Pacing, phrasing, intonation are all equally, if not more, important.

+ [LGBTHealth](https://www.lgbthealth.org.uk/) provide support and run events + workshops in Glasgow & Edinburgh.

Finally, well done on taking the first and most difficult step. Good luck for the future and be patient with the GIC, they are horribly understaffed :(
