titan it repairs (they are on bath street), they fixed an ex's laptop screen well!
also, based on your issue it sounds to me like there's a problem with the graphics card driver. I'd try either newer or older versions and see how that goes. since your computer does start up fine, I'd say the motherboard and the graphics card are likely compatible at least.
