A few of the colleges do cooking courses in the evenings relatively cheaply. Start at the beginner ones and go from there. I’ve been an avid home cook for about ten years and, honestly, once you learn the basics it’s not rocket science in the slightest. I learned mainly from YouTube.

You might find out you enjoy it and you’ll maybe meet some likeminded people too. If you cook in batches and freeze it then it’ll work out cheaper as well. There also a bit of a buzz knowing that you’ve made something all by yourself.
