After buying my first house last year, I totally understand why moving house is the most stressful thing you can do...but for me, it wasn’t the moving itself but the crazy bidding war situation. We went to see a two bedroom cottage flat that was listed as offers over £85,000. Someone bid £100,000 during the viewing just to secure it (totally not worth that amount). Even when we finally did put an offer in on a place, they knocked back our first few offers and eventually said they would only accept the house valuation price which was £5000 above the list price. Why even have an “offers over” if it’s never going to be accepted!? So frustrating.
