Comment | Yes. When they demolished the old granary to make way for the Glasgow Harbour development we were promised all these things. It was supposed to be luxury flats alongside a retail village with cinema and bowling alley and whistles and bells. There was even supposed to be a marina built on the Clyde.
Didn't happen. All we got was the flats.
The building that burned down was down to Tesco. If I remember right, Tesco bought the land and put in an application to demolish the building to make way for one of their superstores. Application got rejected because of the listed status. Shortly after it went up in flames. Make of that what you will at the risk of being called a tin foil hat wearer. BUT IT HAPPENED! |
