I assume it's a problem in places throughout the city where first time buyers want to buy although not exclusive to them. My experience and those of mates has been in the southside, primarily Strathbungo, Shawlands, Battlefield, Langside, Mount Florida etc, all places with a large number of tenemental stock and therefore more likely to be first time buyers who are desperate to get somewhere.

It was a problem we faced and we were outbid regularly by people going over the home report value and that was two years ago. We were also looking at houses and slightly further out (Cathcart, Stamperland, Clarkston, Muirend) and eventually paid 5k over, so nowhere near some of the numbers being dished out for flats in the southside.

Ultimately if you want to buy somewhere that's popular, you're going to need a big pot of cash that you're willing to say goodbye to straight way to try and secure somewhere, which is mental.
