There's wee pockets of Milton are fine. I grew up there, but left 20 odd years ago. I still venture up eventually. It can seem bleak, but you don't actually ever see anybody. The tenements are mostly pulled down now, and there's a lot of redeveloping going on.
Look at Parkhouse and Lambhill too.
Avoid Possil. That place is perpetually fucked.
