Okay so I would recommend ignoring everything negative said here about cocktails and dive bars. Particularly that licensing laws are weird? They are not restrictive really at all. There's no American recipes we come across that we can't make for legal reasons.

Glasgow has great cocktail bars, great bartenders and a generally great bar scene too. To name a few;

Dakota Deluxe Jack's Bar - A hotel bar with high standards of service with bartenders given good direction and freedom with cocktails

Kelvingrove Cafe - One of the best cocktail bars in the country, almost any bartender of talent who comes from Glasgow, passes through here at some point.

Tiki Bar - Talented bartenders focussing on Tiki style drinks.

The Dam - Cool bar making twists on modern classics, its a kind of faux dive rock bar leaning towards dutch influences and Genever.

Tabac - Interesting twists on more old fashioned style drinks made by experienced bartenders

Other bars serving impressive drinks; The Finnieston, The Gate, The Gannet, The Blytheswood Hotel, Wheesht, Ka Pao, Gin 71, Five March and Many more.

As for good dive bars;

Slouch is a rock bar on Bath street that serves the best late night food until 2pm and The Howlin' wolf down the street does a similar thing but with blues music.

BLOC+ Is divey too and has cheap food and music

Drury st. Is a dive bar too but this is where D&D and Board Game nerds hangout which I think is pretty cool. The food is also made fresh, isnt expensive and is really good.

Theres a whole bunch more but I'll stop here.
