Thing is though, although I think it’s a massive Fucking shame that historic Charing Cross and Anderston were so utterly devastated by its construction, it’s here now. I’m not Glasgow born, and when I first moved here (14 years ago), the m8 was part of what made the city seem so cool to me. Coming from rural fife into those massive fucking busy roads gave a sense of scale that really did make a lasting impression. To this day, when I drive over the Kingston bridge on a clear day, it feels Fucking impressive. It was terrible town planning, yes, but without it we wouldn’t have what for me are some of Glasgow’s most iconic moments.
