1. Not apartments, flats.
1. Yes, you can *sometimes* get permission for a dog. You'll often have more success with private landlords rather than agencies. Expect to.pay an increased deposit and for cleaning on exit.
1. Finneston, Starthbungo, Shawlands are all good. Merchant City if you want more urban life.
1. Most pubs will do live music and open mics. You'll be split for choice TBH. Some also specialise in music.
1. At night... Glasgow is a city like any other. But on the whole you should be safe enough.
1. Me, I'd love in Starthbungo, Shawlands, Auldhiuse or Govanhill. I know these areas (and in Govanhill I know where to avoid).

As to your dog...

1. Is it microchipped? That's the law here.
1. It should also wear a collar and have a tag on it with contact information.
1. Vets seem to be slightly out of the city centre, but not crazy so. Shawlands has two I can think of.
1. Kelvingrive Park, Queens Park, Newlands Park, Auldhouse Park and Pollok Park are usuall teaming with dog walkers.
Bellahouston Park has a proper enclosed dog park, Glasgow Green has an unofficial one. We don't reall do dog parks here.
1. DO NOT walk in the parks after dark. Street walks should be fine and you'll be safer than in NYC.
1. Many pubs and some eateries are also dog friendly.

As to anti-Semitism? Dunno TBH. Can't see it being worse than the sectarianism; that's what seems to preoccupy the bigots here.

And finally, welcome! Best paw forward and all that.
