| Comment | Hate to break it to ya but every mode of transport, including cars, is heavily subsidised. Public transport subsidies sound like a lot until you hear about how much motorways cost to build and maintain. VAT on cars, emissions tax and whatever else drivers pay doesn't come close to paying for road maintenance. Barring extreme corruption like in NYC, public transport is cheaper in total, even if subsidised. |
