I don’t mind paying more tax if it helps the city, but the inconsistency in waste disposal and recycling. In tenements we have no garden bin or glass bin, and one blue bin between two flats - so six folk in my case. Whereas in the houses across the road, they have a full contingent of bins and only 3-4 people using them. We pay just as much tax for less of a service. And a lot of the time we see missed collections. Litters a huge problem across the city - mainly cause we have so many clatty bastards about, let’s be fair, but also because there are not enough bins on the streets and the ones that aren’t there aren’t emptied enough. If the tax increase went to sorting that out it would be a real boon, but if there’s no improvement then people are gonna be angry about it.
