I used to live on Baldwin Ave and I'm a geologist. What end of the road are you looking at?

Most historical mines have been backfilled and any settlement should have already occurred. You could be very unlucky, but there is no way of 100% determining the stability of the underlying ground without a ground investigation that would cost north of £15,000.

Have a look at the surrounding properties: it should be fairly obvious if they are being affected by major susidence, i.e. big cracks on gable ends, fucked up window/door lintels.
