Recently, Glasgow uni had, let's say departmental-wide talk, about emissions, where the man from the relevant dept. basically said that it's miles easier to just make it harder to drive around, than to improve services. Not terribly endearing approach, really. I read a good article about electric cars a while ago, about how people are selfish and agnostic to convenience: if it becomes easier and/or cheaper to bus/train/cycle vs. car, they'll do it in short order. |
