Part of your visa fee will be an NHS surcharge - this will cover all healthcare for the duration of your stay. Visits to the GP are free, hospital treatment is free, ambulances are free etc etc. All prescription medicine is free too, and generic medicines are very cheap too, e.g. around £0.20 for a pack of paracetamol (tylenol).

Dental treatment is not totally free, but is subsidised to a certain degree, e.g. checkups are free, a scale and polish about £10, a filling is probably around £20.
