I work in a jewellery workshop. So it’s doing remodelling/commissions/repairs as well as a bit of retail.

In general retail jewellers are targeted on sales and it can be a bit mind numbing and repetitive.

If you don’t have the skills you could maybe man the front counter of a workshop. You tend to learn on the job how to price repairs/recognise stones metals etc and also if you have good employers and show a bit of flair you might get a hand in buying in stock.

I see lots of interesting stuff on the day to day. It’s amazing what normal folk have sitting in drawers at home. It’s lovely when you’re able to put a bit of shine on some old/sentimental/broken jewellery too.
