It’s the very basis of capitalism...supply and demand.
If you have a product and lots of people want it then any economist will tell you that a true exponent of capitalism will charge as much for it as they think that they possibly can get away with.
Which is why capitalism is screwing over the ecology of the world and makes for a miserable existence for the majority of people...it cares for nothing but profit...as a species, sooner or later, we will have to stop measuring things like GDP and economic growth and putting these before all else. |
