People are wearing builder's masks at this stage. Not sure if they do much. Though I believe the government asked or DIY stores to supply the NHS with them if that means much. Not that they'll have stock of even those by now.
I'd imagine you can still buy a gas mask somewhere. Those would do a hell of a lot more to protect people. :P
