| Comment | I feel you may get torn apart for this comment but I somewhat agree with you.
The police have a job to keep us safe and the measures in place are to keep the public safe. The rules are kind of clear but there is some interpretation of what is essential and not. I have to move out a self storage facility this week to another one, is this essential I don't know but the whole reason I'm moving is to be within walking distance of home so I can access my belongings. This trip is so I can stay within the outlined guidelines but I am worried if stopped by police I will be told this isn't essential.
They are understaffed and under pressure and everyone they are stopping is probably giving them a power of grief so I get why they may have been a bit heavy handed in some scenarios.
These measures will be in a long time and the longer they drag on the more likely people are to break the rules. Boyfriends and girlfriends living 10 minutes apart surely won't last 6 months of social distancing without breaking the rules, families and close friends as well.
They are just doing their job so if challanged try be friendly and be honest with what you are doing and why you are doing it and if they don't agree it's essential advise that you will stop right away and return home |
