Any students from a low income household will qualify for the max bursary and loan which if I'm not mistaken is still close to a grand a month. I went to uni straight from school and my maw and da made absolutely fuck all, at points I was using the student loan to help them out.
800+ quid a month is absolutely plenty on top of a part time job. Obviously if you move city or live alone its different but we should be encouraging working class kids to go to uni straight from school. |
