If you’re going to be relocating to a different country and spending most of your time speaking a language that isn’t your mother tongue, it’s inevitable that you’ll meet some (or many) people with a regional accent that you don’t understand.

That said, you’re clearly already fluent enough to understand someone from around here. In comparison to all of the work you will have put in to learning another language, getting familiar with the accent up here will be easy for you! Plus, as others have said, Glasgow is really cosmopolitan. You’ll meet folk from the city, highlands, Ayrshire, greater Glasgow, Edinburgh etc. All the accents are different!

As for whether you’ll be welcomed here - Glaswegians are some of the most welcoming folk I’ve met.

I, like you’re planning to, worked in a restaurant in the west end when I moved up here and not only did I work with people from all over the world, but all of the Scottish folk I worked with were ace. They’ll be happy to have you and I’d be amazed if anyone would consider you being danish an issue.
