His accent is about in the medium-heavy range, but depends on the social circles you roam in really, and what shop you'll work in, if it's a supermarket you'll get everyone obviously, from Glasgow-uni accents which are very easy to understand since they're often Anglocised/Americanised, to middle class teacher accents who also are easy to understand I would imagine since they kind of have to be, to blue collar worker accents which in my experience are the heaviest, even I struggle with them and I grew up just north of here.


As most have said already though, no one reasonable is going to get offended if you didn't understand something, most people around here that I know, myself included swap accents sometimes, I live with an English guy, so I subconsciously drop some of my old accent when I'm with him, if I'm using terms like "mockit" or "heehaw" around him I'm gonnae be asked to repeat it. So every Scottish person goes through that.
