Depends on a few things. Nowadays the rising mains will go to all cold water taps and the combo boiler. The combo boiler then feeds the radiators and hot taps which you shouldn’t drink from.

If you’re in a flat or older house then you’ll probably have a gravity fed system from the loft tank going to your bathroom hot and cold which you shouldn’t drink from.

But you’re right, if you’re not 100% sure then only drink from the kitchen cold tap and don’t even use the hot tap for boiling pasta etc.
