I’m not a expert but my understanding is they still do both direct (mains pressure) and indirect in new builds depending on the water pressure in the area.

Wouldn’t surprise me even in a high pressure area if you’re putting up a big new build with 3 en-suites and 2 toilets that the water board would make you use an indirect system. Just guessing here though.

The more I’m thinking about this the more I’m contradicting myself so yeah stick to the kitchen cold tap regardless of property age unless you’re sure!
