Comment | You do not need a fishing licence in Scotland. However all inland waters require a permit or permission to fish them, with a few exceptions (some canals etc). These are typically issued by angling associations or sporting estates, and can be very cheap or extremely expensive (especially for salmon).
Sea fishing doesn't require a licence or permit.
You don't need the landowner's permission to access land in the countryside.
