| Comment | Cheers mate, that's really helpful. Avant have been great up until we set the completion date, then nothing. They've still not technically told us that construction stopped (although if you read the news you would know)
Ours flat is structurally sound, from what I can see it's only the kitchen, finishing touches needing doing, so I'm hoping it's not too far off. I know a few people living on the site and they've said once complete the flats are stunning.
We were told just before lockdown that we were 3 weeks away from our demonstration day, so even after a staggered lockdown and one trade at a time I'm hoping it won't be months and months (depends on when lockdown is relaxed)
I wasn't sure how furlough would work, as I know my company are planning on using it until June when it stops, unless it's extended. So I'm not sure if there's incentive for trades to go back to work instead of furlough?
100% selfish reasons I know. First home nerves, mortgage offer expires in three months and I don't think anyone knows if they'll keep a job longer than that right now.
*edit - we are at the final touches stage of the build, do you know of the people likely to do those (e.g flooring, appliances, painting etc) are avant employees or contractors? |
