Yeah, homebuilding companies typically do not employ tradespeople directly, but rather use subcontractors. Many large companies have furloughed large amounts of their PMs/engineers and put the projects on hold.

Additionally, the supply chains for construction are completely fucked, so even if you are onsite, you would struggle to get supplies/equipment at the right time.
