Comment | Not disagreeing at all (other than an ABS fail isn't at all the same as a faulty brake system) but you don't need an MOT to make a car roadworthy - he could have taken it in to get it checked and the safety-critical things fixed but explicitly asked not to have an MOT certificate done in order to avoid having it deemed untaxable/uninsurable for another 6 months if he's going to bin it. For example, the exhaust issue will probably be the standards having moved rather than the car degrading. |
