| Comment | Hello there, I lived in the Netherlands for a couple of years but since moving back home to Glasgow I lost most of my speaking ability. I have been interested in learning Dutch properly for years now. I tried the Duolingo course to quite an advanced level, but when I went on holiday to Amsterdam last year, it turned out to be completely useless in trying to talk to people. I have also completed the basic Language4Water course at Glasgow Uni. Was fun, but also not very structured and I've basically forgotten everything I've learned.
Basically, what I've learned is for myself, nothing beats speaking Dutch repeatedly and that self learning is not a good method for me.
I would be VERY interested in joining you and others for a Live Language course in Glasgow. I don't know how to set up a Discord, but I will keep an eye on this post in case someone sets up some sort of group. Feel free to PM and I will give you my details also. Fijne dag! |
