| Comment | Thanks for your reply it’s very enlightening I wasn’t aware of this. From the start I asked if I was on PAYE scheme as have had issues with employers in the past who have not had me on the books. He insisted we were and it wasn’t until I signed into HMRC myself I noticed there was no record. I asked him about it, and for wage slips to prove it, and he said it must be backlogged as he had definitely put us through, claiming that the wages for February didn’t go through until mid March and so it must not be on the system yet. Today he has told me that even if he is able to amend the dates and have me registered as before the furlough cut off, it’ll depend on whether the business actually remains open and that he was planning on sending me my p45 soon, but saying he hadn’t done so yet as he was trying to see if furlough would work. When I first asked to be enrolled in furlough last month he said I had been made redundant the day the pub closed (despite saying it would only be closed for a few weeks due to virus), then when I asked if that meant I was currently unemployed he said he wasn’t sure, then he said I still had the job, and now back to redundancy chat. The story is consistently changing. What would be the grounds for negligence/damage? I don’t know anything about that. |
