Helicopter Activity
We've received a number of questions over the last week or so about increased evening helicopter activity.
GAMA Aviation are currently training new pilots and have had to increase and accelerate their Night Vision Imaging System (NVIS) training in case they are required to provide additional flight resource as a result of COVID-19.
As their NVIS Helicopter Emergency Medical Service approval has not yet been granted they are only able to use approved and surveyed landing sites, which tend to be in built-up areas.
GAMA Aviation are aware their activity may cause some disruption to residents but are undertaking essential training and hope people understand.
