Agreed - South City Way is full of problems, and far from the gold standard of Dutch segregated cycle lanes.

*But*, and I really mean this, we need to remember what a good thing it is that these things are even being built. I don't mean to simply accept them without criticism, but to remember that these are the first examples of the type of safe infrastructure many have been campaigning for for years - they're unlikely to be flawless. They can and should be improved (SCW has several problems I could list that need changed pronto), but we need to use them as examples of what could also be brought to other parts of the city which have absolutely zero safe cycling infra.

Also need to recognise the situation we're in at the moment. Regular construction/development will not be going ahead as planned for a long time. So anything that aims to make getting around the city easier for non-car-owners should be welcomed at the moment.
