Same here! When I was a kid there was always someone who knew someone who was needing a home for a litter of puppies or kittens. We were that home to two dogs and two cats in my childhood and since I've married and left home four cats and two more dogs. I just don't fancy going down the Gumtree route,not for a living creature.
