I moved to Scotland for University 15 years ago and never left (Although I went to Aberdeen and got out of there asap).

Scottish nationalism doesn't exist as a reaction to the English (as some English people feel it does). It's based on it's own values and culture. One of those values is actually accepting people from all over.
I've never felt unwelcome (and I have the additional bonus of brown skin) and I've lived in the remote Highlands, Aberdeenshire and Glasgow.

I consider my self Scottish now but I would never have called myself English before.
