3 of the top 10 schools in the country are in/around giffnock and another two are in the west end/bearsden area.
I'd argue both areas are some of the safest parts of the city. The west end is full of good pubs/cafes/businesses and you've also got the uni there but like other folk said its full of hipster wankers and the prices are sky high due to all the students.
The transport links are decent and the city center isn't too far away for shopping and stuff.
Giffnock is also a fairly safe area albiet a bit out of the way from anything but I guess you're really a 10-15 minute drive to silverburn and not really too far from the city center either. Again it's probably fairly pricey to live there though. |
