He's dangerous. I came home to a smell of gas and phoned the emergency number. He had left the gas turned on and was in his house and didn't even realise. The guy that came out had to open all his windows and said if he lit a cigarette half the street would have went up. He told me there and then he would make sure he is never allowed to have his gas on again and he shouldn't be living alone. Of course nothing happens to him and he's still here.

I just had a Google Image search and you're right, it's not the flue. What would it be then? Is it called the blow off? If I called tomorrow I can say it's the boiler blow off? What would cause water to be pouring out of that? Is water pouring out of that more serious than water pouring from the flue? Would I need to wait until the water came in through my windows? Right now it's in the middle of the wall, in between bedrooms and it's jet black right down the middle and off to the side of that it's soaking wet but those parts of the wall haven't turned black yet.
