I wonder what's going to happen to all that student accommodation the city has been packed with in recent years? Think it's all going to sit empty? Or are they going to be able to start renting it out to the general population? There's 18000+ students living in purpose built accomodation in Glasgow - what happened to all those flats when students can't travel into the country? Or classes are being held online so they don't need to live nearby?
Even after travel restrictions are officially lifted there's no reason to think numbers are going to bounce right back - lots of people are going to study closer to home rather than risk getting stuck in a foreign country in another lockdown. |
