I was in a very similar position a few years ago, moving from Manchester with five suitcases. Problem with trains is there's probably not enough luggage space in the carriage for that many, and even if you find it it'll be out of your sight and accessible to anyone.

I ended up taking a coach. For one thing, it's pretty cheap. You can pay a small extra fee for up to 6 bags in the luggage hold (nice and secure). Only downside is it'll be a long trip, 8-10 hours I think, but it's the easiest way to move two people and that many suitcases without renting a vehicle yourself.
