Have you tried calling dogs trust? They have a small selection of certain dogs that are able to be rehomed just now (although that’s only if you have a garden). Dogs are amazing and I recommend there’s one for everyone out there BUT without sounding like a patronising prick please make sure you’ve thought about how much of a commitment they are (I know, I know but honestly I’ve had dogs my whole life and even on occasion I’m like ‘phew it must be like having a child - no offence to anyone meant!) WFH will mean your there but what about holidays etc. It’s all totally do able and they enhance your life so worth it! I know that throughout this dogs trust have still been taking dogs in and are seriously worried about the long term repercussions of people getting dogs and then giving them up, so they are preparing for an influx in a few months. My honest advice would be to contact Dogs Trust directly potentially even to foster a dog throughout this period? Again I’m sure the rules for this are you need a garden. Not sure what the SSPCA rules are but although they are not rehoming right now they may also be able to help you. Maybe next week when big Nicola announces the lockdown exit strategy the rehoming might be allowed to start again.
Hope this helps - my advice is to get a rescue because there are so many out there and buying a dog right now is against lockdown rules (and I’d assume wouldn’t be able to see a vet for jabs etc) so any for sale are prob a bit dodgy.
