Generally speaking, Glasgow has great train links, both within the city and to other towns/cities around the rest of Scotland and the UK. However rush hour on trains, particularly between Glasgow and Edinburgh, can be brutal and if there are any line/signal problems there can be big delays.
As I said though, *generally* the train infrastructure is great.
