I *think* it was a drill hall and later a TA hall. Bored this morning so...
In 1860 there was no development here [link](https://maps.nls.uk/view/74953132#zoom=5&lat=10728&lon=6517&layers=BT)
By 1896 There is a large building here described as a "Drill Hall" [link](https://maps.nls.uk/view/82891752#zoom=6&lat=10460&lon=6813&layers=BT)
In later maps this is described as a "TA hall".
