| Comment | This wouldn't be deleting history though. These are just street names. We build a shopping centre and call it Buchanan Galleries because it's on Buchanan Street. Someone opens a pub called Ingram Wynd because it's on Ingram Street and it's fine because we've never addressed why these streets are called that.
To be honest, renaming them isn't important but some kind of memorial or museum to acknowledge Glasgow's role in the Transatlantic Slave Trade is long overdue. |
