| Comment | If we change the names we're essentially trying to erase the history behind them. We need to be taught about our roots in slavery to understand we arent innocent in everything. If we dont acknowledge our mistakes, how can we grow and ensure we dont learn from them. Were taught about Hitler in school to avoid that happening again, so why should our roots in slavery be any different? I'm ashamed to say it took til my early 20s to learn about the names of our streets but I'm glad I did. |
