No there isn't, that's complete fucking nonsense.
Glasgow is by far and away one of the most left-leaning cities in the UK. There's almost no "distaste" for the objective behind this protest unless it's coming from blatant racists.
The difference is folk disagreeing with the size of the gathering and the circumstances in which it's occurring, we're in the middle of a pandemic and while issues like this definitely can't wait it doesn't mean folk disagreeing with the situation are against the BLM message.
In fact these protests are occurring weekly across the country and the only criticism is that folk shouldn't be gathering en masse in the middle of a pandemic. There's no hidden meaning behind it, you can simultaneously agree with the BLM message and disagree with mass gatherings during a deadly virus, those are mutually exclusive. |
