The big 3 northern cities will all serve you well and are similar to Glasgow in their own ways. If it’s the city itself you want to be similar then Liverpool is your best bet. I’d personally choose Newcastle for the people as they’re most similar to Glaswegians in their outlook. Manchester is great and has an amazing arts and culture scene if that’s what you’re into.
