At least the owners of those companies faced consequences after the war. Most of these guys with statues died extremely rich and well respected (hence why they got statues put up of them) and never faced any consequences for their actions.
Nobody protesting is saying "We must tear down everything they ever built with their dirty money!", they're just saying we shouldn't be giving some of them the honour of a statue in a prominent location. |
