Your argument makes sense, if you accept the premise that the only people demanding these statues be removed are mobs of teenage Twitter users. It's very easy to make an argument when you dismiss the opposition like that.

The fact is that people of colour in this country have spent **years** campaigning to remove these statues or at LEAST acknowledge the actual history behind them. In almost all cases they've been ignored. Glasgow city council has now announced they are undertaking a review of the various statues and street names in the city, with an eye towards how it reflects our colonial history. A democratically elected organisation, conducting a thorough review of the situation, and then acting on it. That's what we need, that's what people have been asking for, and that's what is now happening.

So far the only "mob" removal of a statue was the one in Bristol, which people had tried to democratically have removed for years only to be vetoed by the organisation of local business owners who put it up in the first place. It's now been recovered and will be placed in the city museum.

I won't even get into the Rowling stuff because you're clearly just trying to deflect the argument in a direction that suits you.
