I'm originally from London but I've lived in Scotland for 15 years. And not really in the most diverse areas; Aberdeenshire, the northern Highlands, Merchant City. I've always felt very much a part of whichever community I've lived in, with of course the usual one off interactions with the occasional arse (racist. But it's scary saying that). A couple of weeks ago I moved to a more multicultural area in the Southside. Its really strange for me that I'm feeling some kind of relief - which is wird and really sad.
Having said that, as a minority, I would still choose to live in Scotland over most places in England. I hope my Scottish bubble hasn't fully burst.
