Second, yes, anti catholic bigotry is a problem.
Anti protestant bigotry is as big a problem, so is Islamophobia, and anti-semitism.
You can't fix one side without fixing the others I'm afraid.
Can you honestly say, that having a different school based on your faith doesn't in some part play a role in sectarianism in Scotland?
There are literally schools, that have big fences between them on a shared campus, that separate kids based on their religion.
I'm sorry but that's fucking wild. It really is.
If you separated kids based on eye colour, the problem would be the same, as soon as you start separating people based on anything, divisions arise.
I'll say again, I'm not blaming catholic schools. It's all faith schools. I believe that segregating kids at aged 5 to 18, based on religion fuels sectarianism in Scotland.
